Julia Balandina Jaquier, Ph.D, CFA


Julia is a seasoned impact investor and a trusted adviser to major families of wealth, international banks, corporates and the Swiss and UK Governments.

She brings 25 years of investment experience and is passionate about investing in market-based solutions to global challenges. Focused on impact finance since 2004, she has facilitated development and implementation of a broad range of mission-driven investment programs for private and institutional investors.

 She started her career in 1993 at McKinsey, and subsequently held senior positions at ABB Financial Ser­vices and AIG, where she managed the European direct private equity business. In 2005, Julia pioneered one of the first institutional impact investment funds, which she managed until 2010. She subsequently founded an independent impact investment consultancy.

Balandina Jaquier is the author of one of the first books on impact investing (published in 2011), she lectured/s at St. Gallen University, IMD, INSEAD, Harvard, Yale and CEIBS and serves on the (advisory) boards of Unilever, SIFEM (Swiss DFI), FORE Partnership, tonic T100, and PYMWYMIC Foundation.
